6 Racism Images

For all of these projects, they were all based around one word, racism. In the first one, a white boy and a black boy are grasping hands, showing that you should not discriminate against each other even if your different skin colors. I put an artistic filter on this image to make it different. For the second picture, there is one brown egg and the rest are white. This illustrates how people with colored skin weren't included in anything. I also put a filter on this and turned up the saturation to give it more color. Next, for my third project, there are white and black spoons. Although the black spoon is broken because the blacks were constantly being hurt and bullied because of their skin color. I put a film grain on this and turned up the exposure. Also, in my fourth project, the theme of racism is continued where a green fish is being stopped from joining orange fish. This is relating to the blacks not being able to mix and have the same opportunities as the whites. I turned up the saturation and also put a tone on this picture to make it stand out. For my fifth project, it shows people of different color skin that have bonded and came together. This shows how people can fight through racism. I put a neon glow effect on the picture and recolored each arm a different color. Lastly, I have a picture of Martin Luther King who was against racism and brought it to an end. I put a gradient and black and white effect on this picture and made it look antiquely. In the end, I really liked this project and enjoyed learning about the history of racism through pictures.

Power of One Text Illustration

We were to pick one word and represent it in an illustration with text. Throughout the movie Power of One, hope is a constant word that people are seeking for. Therefore, I chose hope as my word that I would illustrate in this project. I chose rocks as the background because I found them as an appropriate image to put in. I put a vivid light effect on the rocks and lowered the opacity and fill to make the word hope stand out more. Also, I chose a cursive font because it looks more sophisticated and fit the words connotation better. I put a drop shadow on hope and then darkened it, so that you know what this project is based around. In conclusion, this project was not one of my favorites but I still enjoyed working on it and it gave me something to do.

Power of One Movie Poster

When I began this project, I really wanted the title to pop with the word One, because it is a very important piece to this movie. I placed encouraging words in the background like bold, strong, fear, brave, and hope. All of these words related to the journey that PK faced throughout the movie. To add a little more, I found a person holding up one, and I thought that would add the finishing touch and wouldn't make it so bland. I lowered the opacity so that it wouldn't stand out too much and that did just the job to finish up the project.

MEOW STENCIL

For this project I found 6 pictures of supre cute cats. I then used a heart stencil to cut out bits of each picture. I thought it would be a good idea to arrange the pictures into a collage, so I did. Although, it needed some type of background and I happened to come across this meow picture. This fit the project perfectly so I put it in and dimmed the opacity of the cats and also used the put light in effect which gave it the finishing touch. Im very proud of this work even though they are not my pictures because it shows how I thought out of the box.

Stencil Project

I took a pair of jeans and made it my stencil. Then I found different pictures of me and my friends and used the stencil to cut parts of the picture out. Then I put filters on each of the jeans to give it a different look. Afterwards I found a colorful background and lowered the opacity to make the jeans pop more. I liked this project because I was able to use my creativity to figure out to use a pair of jeans as my stencil.

Met Museum Picture

I really liked this project by Matthew Porter. I really like the fantasy of a car flying, and how it fits right into the background. The way they edited the car in was perfect, and you can't even tell the difference. I also enjoy the fact that they used a sepia colored effect on the picture. I think it gives it that last touch to pull the picture together.
